Last week the entrance to the Western Ports complex of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) was impassable as hundreds of truck drivers caused a pandemonium while struggling to obtain NPA truck stickers in order to gain access to the ports.

Despite being informed about this registration exercise since January, these truck drivers had vehemently opposed the NPA on the annual N10,000 fee required to obtain the sticker, but they have finally decided to key into the initiative as NPA stuck to its decision to enforce compliance by restricting port access to trucks with stickers.

All these ‘wahala’ would have been avoided if ‘una’ truck drivers comply earlier.

Why do some people like to suffer?
