When Mr. Jackson Gaius-Obaseki served as Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) passionate about the affreightment of Nigeria’s crude that he famously declared ‘My Crude’ ‘My Crude’ when indigenous ship-owners had visited him to get NNPC engage Nigerian ship-owners for the carriage of the nation’s crude. Mr. Gaius-Obaseki later refuted all efforts and submissions of the ship-owners at the time and the Septuagenarian left a bad taste in the mouth of ship-owners.
