It seems that the almost lost peace and cooperation which trailed the activities at the nation’ seaports has been restored. This is due to the meeting between the Maritime workers Union (MWUN) and the management of the NPA.
Many has woken up to the news of a threat letter issued to the NPA on the 8 month arrears of Dock workers and the On Board Security and Gang men which caused rebellion at the ports. This issue has been resolved with the NPA agreeing to meet the demands of the MWUN.
Many thanks to the big brother role played by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Productivity leading to a memorandum of understanding signed in Abuja. Well …. Many are expecting more of such understanding to affect all other operations at the ports. Only time will tell.
