BEARS: Boat Club Trap

Lagos Boat Club at Awolowo road, Ikoyi may have a rich history but when it hosted top dignitaries during the investiture of the new executives of Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, it trapped the participants in an overcrowded hall without proper ventilation and non-functional air conditioners for hours. It was a sorry experience to see the likes of the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Hassan Bello; the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, NIMASA, Alhaji Bashir Jamoh, among other dignitaries all sweaty. Their hands turned fans while others improvised with the printed speech at the event.
