Pandemonium broke out at the Tincan Island ports, Apapa during a street protest staged by truckers when they were forced to obey the directive of the Lagos State Government, to work from 9pm to 6am. A driver brought out a locally made gun, brandishing it in public.
The police opened fire on the mammoth crowd, before hundreds of eye witnesses, killed the armed man and wounded so many others.
In as much as the man was armed, does it make sense to open fire on a crowd of innocent people who have the right to react to decisions of the state that impact’s negatively on their lives as citizens of Nigeria?
Police Abeg, take it easy!
