BULLS: No Service, No Charge

As part of efforts to curb the laxity in public service, the Managing Director, Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman has said that under her supervision NPA wouldn’t collect monies for any service not rendered.

“Every service NPA doesn’t provide wouldn’t charge. I have instructed my officers not to charge for any service the Authority didn’t provide. The essence is that when it becomes clear that your revenue drops because you didn’t perform your obligation, then you would be forced to sit up and provide such services” the NPA boss said last week.

This is an epitome of visionary leadership as Usman displays private sector business nous to correct the anomaly and inefficiency of public servants.

Other government agencies should take a cue from the NPA boss.

Don’t charge for services you didn’t provide!!!
