BEARS: Where Are The Fruits Of NCAT, NITT?
Bears Thumbs Down NCAT & NITT

South African teenagers set a new pace in the aviation industry when they built an aircraft that flew from Cape Town to Cairo in Egypt, last month.

These ambitious teenagers stepped into the corridors of inventors after they successfully built a four-seater aircraft. The teens built the aircraft in two weeks under the guidance of The Airplane Factory, U-Dream mentors and five team leaders from Denel Aviation.

Isn’t this a challenge to the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) and the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT)?

If teenagers could successfully build an aircraft, then these training institutions should be able to produce adults who would be able to build a similar or a more sophisticated aircraft. Over the years, these students have not made any achievement to show for the training received in these institutes. What is the essence of learning without practicing? NCAT and NITT should take this is a challenge and work towards training graduate who would be innovative and creative like these teenagers.

Where are the fruits of massive training institutions like NCAT aand NITT? Are they fruitless?
