Talod Ocean Airfreight Receives WCO Award For Trade Compliance

The World Customs Organization (WCO) has rewarded Talod Ocean Airfreight Limited, a Nigeria freight forwarding company for its international trade compliance activities.

A WCO merit award was presented at the annual International Customs Day Celebration held in Abuja recently.

The award conferred by Secretary General of WCO, Mr. Kunio Mukuriya, and presented by the Comptroller General of Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) to the deserving company.

A press statement obtained by MMS Plus indicated that the award which was presented by the Customs boss read thus; “Award in Recognition for Rendering Exceptional Services to the International Customs Communities”.

The WCO certificate award is given to merit private organizations and endorsed by the National Customs haven obtained a clean bill of Professional practices by FIATA for outstanding  trade compliance, qualitative logistics services and participation in the global trade initiative programs; which in the local parlance is referred to as COMPLIANT DECLARANT/TRADER.

During the presentation of the award to deserving company, owned by Former Governing Council Chairman of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Hakeem Olanrewaju, he applauded WCO and the NCS for considering his company worthy of the merit award.

Olanrewaju dedicated the award to the young freight forwarders who are aspiring for professionalism and international best practices in all strata of the maritime industry.

The WCO merit award an International award every duly established professional freight forwarding firms or practitioners should aspire and look forward to earn as a recognition of high level of compliance to trade rules.

Olarenwaju is also the Founder of  Congregation of Registered Freight Forwarding Practitioners of Nigeria (CREFFPON). The group is a voluntary salvage movement to restore professionalism by willing registered freight forwarders with the CRFFN.
