Honour came the way of Engr. David Omonibeke recently, as he became distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in recognition of his notable achievements in the diverse spheres of his endeavour.
Engr. Omonibeke, who is the Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, is noted to be a versatile and seasoned professional and an indefatigable leader who has demonstrated uncommon zeal in pursuance of engineering excellence in his career.
This much was contained in a press statement signed by the General Manager, Public Affairs, of the NPA, Capt. Iheanacho Ebubeogu (Retd). Omonibeke, according to the statement, “has contributed immensely in various areas to the professional development of engineering and technology in Nigeria especially the NPA, amongst which are; Engineering Technologist of the Marine and Operations Directorate, channel management, protection of the environment of all NPA navigational channels and ports.”
David Omonibeke is the first Marine Engineer to ever occupy the position of Executive Director, Marine Operations of the NPA.
