The Federal Government had, in 2017, begun the National Primary Healthcare Revitalization Initiative with the aim of resuscitating over 10,000 health centres across the country.
Two years after the Federal Government’s promise to revitalize 10,000 primary healthcare centres across the country, many states are still awaiting the government’s intervention. The Chairman, Medical Guild, Lagos, Dr. Babajide Saheed, recently disclosed that the government had not intervened in the revitalization of primary health care centers in Lagos since 2017. It is disheartening that government seems to have abandoned major projects especially health; yet they say health is wealth!
