Oyebanji Chairs New Advisory Board For OTL Africa Downstream Week

A new Advisory Board has been constituted for the OTL Africa Downstream Week with the former Chairman of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Mr. Tunji Oyebanji as chairman.

The annual OTL Africa Downstream Week is the continent’s leading business forum for market insights, business development and policy analysis in the African downstream petroleum value-chain. It is organized in collaboration with key partners in government and the industry.

Mr. Oyebanji is taking over as Chairman of the OTL Africa Downstream Advisory Board from Dr. Reginald Stanley who led the Advisory Board with commitment and passion since 2015, and now transits to become a Patron of the board.

In a press statement issued on Thursday by Dr Emeka Akabogu, Chairman, OTL Downstream Development in Africa Ltd, he said the new Advisory Board will be inaugurated on Thursday, January 20th 2022.

His words: “With rapid changes sweeping through downstream energy markets, it is fitting that a diverse complement of experienced industry advisors is poised to guide the strategic direction of the OTL initiative going forward.

“The reconstituted Advisory Board is made up of eminent, long-standing industry professionals with extensive experience and deep industry knowledge, which we know will be crucial towards the continued success of the OTL Africa Downstream Week”

The new Advisory Board members are: Mr. Tunji Oyebanji (Chairman), Mr. Ian Brown, Mrs. Sheila Abiemo, Mr. Mumuni Dagazau and Mr. Clement Isong.

Profiles of new OTL Advisory Board members:

Mr. Tunji Oyebanji has over forty years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, most of which was spent in downstream operations at Exxonmobil. He is currently the MD/CEO of 11 PLC (formerly Mobil Oil), a role he has occupied since 2008, through the transition from Mobil Oil Nigeria Limited. He was until recently, the Chairman of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria.

 

Mr. Ian Brown has nearly 30 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, and has worked in a number of operational and management roles in EMEA, with particular focus on operational excellence and safety.
He arrived in Nigeria in 1998, and joined Vitol’s Nigerian operations in 2005. He was the face of many Vitol Nigerian investments for the next 12 years, then became Operations Coordinator, Vitol in Africa, providing technical and operational advice on all matters relating to West Africa. Ian retired at the end of 2020. He currently fills his time as an independent consultant.

 

Mrs. Sheila Abiemo is a graduate of the University of Ghana and Director, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Ghana. She has worked in the past as the Research Manager, Head of Research and Technical Aide to the C.E.O, and the Head of Planning and Research at National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Ghana. Mrs. Abiemo is an Energy Policy Strategist, Resource and Environmental Economist, Experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Director with a demonstrated history of working in the oil & energy industry.

 

Mr. Mumuni Dagazau is a visionary leader who has spent the last 3 decades establishing operational optimization, fostering strategic development and driving corporate vision across different industries. He prides himself as being a change agent with a proven ability to purposefully identify and implement cost effective management and day team building solutions through business process improvement. He is currently the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of OVH Energy overseeing all day-to- operations of the company.

 

Mr. Clement Isong has over 30 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. His proficiency in the Oil business within and outside Nigeria stands him out. He has led many initiatives in the industry, most notably at Total, where he led the company’s expansion into new territories. He is currently the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN).
