Just a week into the New Year when many citizens are hopeful that Nigeria should get better, a series of negative events has already begun occurring.

On 3rd January in Kebbi state a boat carrying 100 rice farmers capsized leading to 10 deaths and 10 missing. Also, the recent abduction of many passengers at Ekehen station Edo state on the eve of January 7th Saturday has further exposed the poor security in the country.

On national television , it’s been revealed that the turn out of the collection of Permanent Voters Cards is low.

These news are not only sad but highlights the height of insecurity in the nation and with the low turn of the PVC collection , political apathy may hamper the 2023 elections
