The raging new terminal charges revealed again how rancorous and disunited in structure the freight forwarding associations are. But most pathetically, it painted the family of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders(NAGAFF) in disarray.
Knowing the way some terminal operators operate, none of the clearing agents or freight forwarders campaigning for the stay of the new charges did it for gratis. They had their prices paid. NAGAFF was divided with the Presiden , Toochukwu Ezisi, endorsing the new rate,Ibrahim Tanko the 100 % Compliant coordinator, condemning the absurdity. Dr. Boniface Aniebonam justified the increment.
While Dr. Kayode Farinto flew the flag of campaign for his association, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents(ANLCA), the National Executive Committee(NECOM) led by the President, Emenike Nwokeoji sought the withdrawal of the new rate. Then, enter the concerned freight forwarders flying the flag of freedom. What a mess!
