BREAKING!!! Amaechi, Sirika Retain Ministerial Positions

* Fashola’s Ministry unbundled, Zaniab seals Minstry of Finance

Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has been retained as the Minister of Transportation, just as Senator Hadi Sirika has also been returned as Minister of Aviation with the Aviation Ministry separated from Transportation.

 

Similarly, Mrs. Zainab S. Ahmed was reappointed Minister of Finance. Zainab had taken over from Mrs. Kemi Adeosun who resigned as Minister of Finance, last year.

 

Another notable development was the unbundling of the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing handled by Mr. Babatunde Fashola in the previous administration. Fashola would only serve as Minister of Power, while Mohammed H. Abdullahi  serves as Minister of Works and Mustapha Baba Shehuri is the new Minister of Housing.

 

The former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Sen. Adeleke O. Mamora has also been appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

 

The other confirmed Ministerial appointments include; Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN – Minister of Justice Attorney General, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mej. Gen. (RTD) Bashir S. Magashi – Minister of Defence, Adamu Adamu – Minister of Education, Sabo Nanono – Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Chris Ngige – Minister of Labour and Employment and Mohammed Musa Bello – Minister of Federal Capital Territory.

 

Others are Mr. Ogbonnay Onu – Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Timipre Silva – Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN – Minister of Interior, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola  – Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. George Akume – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Osagie Ehanire – Minister of Health, Pauline Tallen – Minister of Women Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio – Minister of Niger Delta, Lai Mohammed – Minister of Information, Dr. Muhammadu Mahmoud  – Minister of Environment, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu – Minister of Water Resources, Engr.
