The seeming unwavering ambition of the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekeremadu to set a record as a four time representative of Enugu West senatorial Zone in the National Assembly is another political game plan by some Northern political elements.

It was gathered that Sen. Ekweremadu has been holding nocturnal meetings with his Northern Political confidants on how to hatch their plans aimed at clinching the position of the Senate President in 2015.

The game plan is to stop the incumbent Senate President, Sen. David Mark from returning as the Senate President in 2015, if he returns as a Senator, thereby reducing his chances of vying for the position of presidency in 2019 presidential election.

But political observers see the romance with these Northern irredentists as a precursor to a political suicide. It was learnt on good authority that Sen. Ekweremadu is being positioned as a weapon of political destruction against the Presidential ambition of any Presidential candidate from the North-Central and North East in 2019.

This could place him on vantage position to maneuver his way and clinch the Vice-Presidential ticket to a North West Presidential candidate.

The plot is being woven, according to a close source, such that Sen. Ekweremadu, riding on the support of the North as a Senate President orchestrates the return of power to the North, while creating a dizzy political environment in the country.

However, the political fortunes of the Deputy Senate President is tumbling in his home state, Enugu State over his insistence to represent his constituency in the senate for the fourth time, when it became obvious that he would not emerge the governor of Enugu State in 2015.

Consequently, he has been locked in a tiff of supremacy with the state Governor, Sullivan Chime, whom he believes is the obstacle to the realization of his ambition.
