The council for the regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) is set to actualize its mandate by fully implementing the enabling Act. The Registrar of the Council Sir Mike Jukwe made this known at an interactive session with the leadership of the accredited Freight Forwarding Associations in his office last week.
He said that the Council would soon embark on her oversight function of annual visitations of accredited associations, registered corporate and individual practitioners to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Sir Jukwe added that the association’s task force would soon commence checking quack Freight-Forwarders.
“We would collaborate with Councils Enforcement team and other Law enforcement agencies for regular monitoring and raiding of quacks and illegal operators from the ports and culprits will be brought to book.”
The CRFFN Boss further gave the heart cheering news that the council would train 300 freight forwarders.
“We have concluded plans to train 300 registered freight forwarding practitioners in the professional certificate, MATA diploma and higher diploma in freight forwarding and supply chain management programme for the 2015 academic year”.
He therefore called on the leadership of the accredited Associations to hasten-up in the submissions of their nominees for the programmes which he said would launch the industry into a new era of standardization and professionalism.
