Wasted N2bn: CRFFN Discredits Aniebonam’s Claims
The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has debunked the recent assertion of the founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Dr. Boniface Aniebonam who stated that CRFFN had wasted over N2 billion.
Following the statements credited to the NAGAFF founder during a recent interview with the press, CRFFN issued a rejoinder to state unequivocally that the statements were false and unfounded.
“The attention of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has been drawn to an unfounded and false comment made during an interview granted by Dr. Boniface Aniebonam to Ships and Ports Daily, published on the 18th of April 2016 on Page 2 with the caption “CRFFN has wasted over N2 billion”, the report read.
“We wish to debunk this false allegation that we have never received from the government “over N2 billion” as claimed by Dr. Aniebonam”
However, the Council maintained that Dr. Boniface Aniebonam is a stakeholder and friend of the house, thus, at the Council it is believed that the freight forwarding veteran was quoted out of context.
The Council reiterated that it remained focused in carrying out its mandate as spelt out in the Act which established the Council, to regulate freight forwarding practice in Nigeria by ensuring professionalism and standardization.
