The Nigeria Customs Service and the Customs Administration of Benin Republic have began discussions on how to address the incidence of diversion of goods and fraud along the Nigeria-West corridor with the deployment of the SIGMAT, an interconnectivity system for the management of goods in transit.
The Comptroller General of Customs, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Adewale Adeniyi made this known on Monday at the official launch of the deployment of SIGMAT connectivity between Benin and Nigeria, Seme Krake Joint Border post. What stood out at the occasion was the leadership command and delivery of the Customs CG, who inspired his men and officers at the border command, taking out moments of oratory to reveal that the management of NCS sent the historian, Seme Customs Command’s Controller, Dr. Ben Oramalugo to border post on purpose. He was also quick to add that Oramalugo has not disappointed them.
