Maritime Women Laud Hadiza’s Courage For “Stepping On Toes”

The maritime community and different members of female associations in the nation’s business space attended the second reading and signature signing session of ” Stepping On Toes “, a book authored by a former Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority( NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman . The event which took place in Lagos penultimate Saturday, attracted some political big- wigs in the All Progressives Congress( APC). Among them was former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who described the author as the golden girl of APC, nothing that she discharged responsibility as the Secretary of one of their committees excellently , keeping them on their toes, even though she was the youngest of them all. Members of Women in Logistics and Transport (WilAT), Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association(WISTA) Nigeria and Women in Maritime Africa(WIMA) Nigeria graced the occasion. While some of them openly identified with her, others commended her courage from their cocoon for the fear of political reprisal. What a woman’s world!
