Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority(NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji resigned his appointment of barely over a year to join the gubernatorial race in Osun State.
On appointments he had shown signs of deep interest in the race, having served as a Commissioner earlier under Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy as governor.
Oyebamiji established himself as maritime media-friendly CEO with a couple of media relations activities. He never shied away from meeting the press at functions , though difficult to access always in office because of dual interest.
His immediate predecessor, George Moghalu contested election as a sitting MD, and lost.
