BULLS: Kano Umunna
Umunna are a form of patrilineage maintained by the Igbos. Law starts with the Umunna which is a male line of descent from a founding ancestor (who the line is sometimes named after) with groups of compounds containing closely related families headed by the eldest male member.
At the port stakeholders sensitization campaign organized by Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) last week, the Master of Ceremony, Dr. Obicee Okonkwo frequently interjected with Igbo and occasionally instructed the Director General of SON to seek clarification from his aides.
Obicee and the entire audience was shocked when the Director General revealed at the end of the summit that he has an Umunna an indication that he understood parts of the Igbo language utilized by the MC.
