It’s surprising that an importer who could purchase a vehicle worth N120Million finds it difficult to pay the customs duty and other relevant tarrif. Why cut corners? Isn’t it better to transact legitimately and have peace of mind? Why import cars worth hundreds of millions and then plan to evade the duties? Big man; big wahala ooo.. Our correspondence learnt that the customs duty on one of these cars was over N42million.
Unfortunately, the same customs officers that compromised with the importer would be the one to give out intelligence reports to his colleagues at other commands to intercept the cars. Importers be wise, do legitimate business enjoy your profits!
