BEARS: Oil Palava
Bears Thumbs Down Pipeline Vandalism

has recorded over 1,600 cases of pipeline vandalism since January. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu made the disclosure recently at the 2016 Annual Conference of National Association of Energy Correspondents with the theme, “Low Oil Price: Impact and the Way Forward”, in Lagos.

The impact of attacks on oil and gas pipelines is that the export of the product has been grossly impeded and this has resulted to a significant drop in the nation’s revenue especially the 2016 budget.

Between 2010 and 2015, the nation also recorded over 3,000 pipeline vandalism cases and the status quo doesn’t look like it would change anytime soon as militancy and pipeline vandalism continues to surge.

What a mess? God help Nigeria!
