It has become a new norm in the Ministry of Transportation to continue to promise December for the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge lines which has been under construction of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
The $1.5 billion project was slated to be completed 2018, but later moved to December 2019 which fail. In 2020, the construction company assured that the project would be completed in April but the December Promise had been made again as the project is yet to be completed.
What exactly should we expect? How credible can we rate the Ministry of Transportation and the NRC management? How many Decembers will pass before Amaechi’s Lagos railway is completed?
