The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), David Fianko-Okyere announced that 494 Nigerians have been handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service for deportation after entering the country illegally.
According to him, the arrest came as a result of intelligence gathering from the police service, and also information from the public about the influx of foreign nationals into their communities.
He added that apart from those arrested, some Nigerians voluntarily handed themselves over to the police service to be deported back to Nigeria.
