BEARS: Lockdown Violators
Some of the violators
Over 200 persons have been arranged for violating the lockdown order for sporty activities in various parts of Lagos during the 14days lockdown by the government.
Over 189 pleaded guilty of the offence and were ordered to pay fines ranging from N5,000 to N10,000. They were also sentenced to two hours of community service, which was supervised by officials of the Social Welfare Unit.
While those whose income are earned daily have legitimate grounds to violate the law, it is unfortunate that people flout this law for sporty activities that could be improvised indoor.
Why should one violate the law, suffer monetary penalties and community service when you can obey the law and get back to fitness after the lockdown.
