Ms. Iyabo Sosina is one of Africa’s top women in Civil Aviation. She is currently the secretary general of African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC). Prior to her appointment to the position of Secretary General of AFCAC on 9 January, 2012, Sosina was Director, Air Transport Regulation in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), where she supervised the preparation of the Air Transport Economic Regulations incorporating the Consumer Protection Regulations. She also supervised the automation of the Department as well as the automation or collection from source, of the Sales Charge which formed 95% of the organization’s revenue.
A recipient of several Merit Awards, the holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in History/Political Science from the University of Ife, Ile- Ife, she currently embarked on the mission to liberalize aviation in Africa, as she actualized a single African Aviation which the African Union rectified recently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that will drive the economic development of Africa.
