BULLS: Can The CGC Be Hijacked?

The appointment of a career Customs officer is one prayer many industry stakeholders have been making especially when Col. Hammed Ali(rtd) was appointed as the Customs Comptroller General(CGC) in 2015 on assumption of office by President Muhommadu Buhari. Customs had had  Major General Samuel Ango as Sole Administrator of NCS.  It took the amendment of the Customs CEMA to abolish the invasion of “foreign species” into customs management, a stretch of the prayers answered. This explains why the appointment of DCG Wale Adeniyi as the Ag. CGC is attracting  unsettling applause from all quarters.

However, the fear now is the possible “hijack” of the new CGC from his immediate constituency.  But knowing him, this fear is needless. He has to make the best of this opportunity for the country, customs, friends  and constituency.  Congratulations,once again!
