BoI Gets Re-Certification On ISO Compliance

BoI Gets Re-Certification On ISO ComplianceThe Bank of Industry says it has been recertified by the International Organization for Standardization as being ISO compliant.

It said the ISO 9001:2015 QMS-compliant certification was given to it for adhering strictly to Quality Management System principles in delivering financial and advisory services in the country.

The bank, in a statement, noted that the ISO 9001:2015 QMS re-certification provided it with a platform to drive its business management tools to deliver efficient and effective business services to its customers.

In a statement, the BoI said to achieve the re-certification, it went through “a painstaking and a rigorous process of reviewing, revamping and  documenting its business processes, which helped to achieve the initial  ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification in 2017, which is the latest version  in QMS.”

It added “As a strategy-focused organization, BoI will continue to reinvent and benchmark itself with global trends towards enhancing its service delivery profile to all its stakeholders.”

The Managing Director, BoI, Mr. Olukayode Pitan, was quoted as saying, “The re-certification marks the beginning of another three-year QMS cycle within which we are expected to maintain and continually improve our management system. We have developed a framework to ensure that we maintain high standards and pass both the internal and external ISO audits as they take place within the cycle and beyond.”

The Country Director, DQS Management Systems Nigeria Limited, Mr.  Lawrence Oludu, had earlier said the certification gave the bank’s  stakeholders the assurance  that the values of the institution had been checked by a  third-party that was truly independent.

“The assurance here includes that the processes and the methodologies engaged by BoI in doing businesses have been checked and the bank had obtained the required image needed for global competition.

“It shows that the institution has competent people that are ready to deliver according to their promises,” Oludu said.
