BEARS: NPA Media Hostility
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) probably has the record of being the most hostile maritime agency but that hostility is used to be displayed at the Marina headquarters of agency by its security. However, last week maritime journalists were treated abundantly with the resentment that is akin to the NPA security operatives at Marina but this time the venue was the Eko Hotels. Journalists had to stand outside the venue for over an hour because there were no NPA staff from the Public Relations department to verify if they had been invited or not.
One NPA staff sent invitation to journalists, but he wasn’t on ground to welcome his guests. He didn’t think it was wise to send the names of his media guests to those at the registration stand. What kind of forgetful Public Relations is this?
