BEARS: Customs Officer Found Dead
The corpse of a customs officer, who was abducted in Ogun State on Tuesday has been found.
Suspected smugglers had ambushed a Customs patrol team at Yewa South Local Government Area of the state and abducted two customs officers in the process.
The body of one of the officers was found in a river near Fagbohun village in the local government, on Wednesday.
After hours of search his rifle was later found few metres away from the river where the body was dumped.
This is a sad development for the Customs Service, especially officers attached to the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, comprising Lagos and Ogun State who were on patrol of the area on Tuesday afternoon when they were ambushed.
