Human Capital, Key To Economic Survival – Imoukhuede
The President, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, has identified human capital as a critical ingredient required by firms to survive in a volatile economy.
He stated this while speaking at the 2016 edition of the Brand Innovation Summit which held recently in Lagos.
Aig-Imoukhuede, who was the keynote speaker, in his presentation titled, ‘Leading growth in volatile times,’ noted that human capital was strategic during difficult times.
He said, “A critical success factor in difficult economic times is the human capital. Your human resources capital is the most strategic resource during difficult times.”
The NSE president urged firms to look at the brighter side of the current economic realities in Nigeria. “Volatility does not connote negativity in the strictest sense, as it holds out as the best time for bold, discerning leaders to identify potential opportunities and key into them,” he said.
According to him, to do the right thing demands vision as well as the ability to leverage resources.
