Stakeholders Advocate Pact Between Minister And Operators

Stakeholders in the aviation sector have suggested that the new minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka should involve operators in the sector in decision making so that there can be synergy in overcoming the enormous challenges in the sector.

The new Minister has been advised that seeking of opinions of the people on the field as we as having constant meetings with the operators will help him to identify the grey areas that need urgent attention for the challenges he met on ground to be solved.
Advocating this is the Managing Director OF Fiume Aviation Services, Sheri Ayuba Kayari who said opinion seeking and constant meetings with the operators will help to improve on the sector as problems will become easy to solve.
Kayari said, “The Minister Should come back to the industry to seek people’s opinion. We should engage in detailed meetings with stakeholders for improvement in the sector.”
Speaking further, he added that the government should make policies that will help the private sector to grow.” In the developed World, what the government is concerned about is to make policies that will help the private sector,” he stated.
However, the Secretary, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders ( NAGAFF), Airport chapter, Mr. Godfrey Ede said if the government could engage private individuals who are on ground and know where the shoe pinches, the challenges of the sector would soon be a thing of the past.
Speaking further, he advised the new Minister to give a directive to the agency agencies in the Aviation in the sector to put more friendly policies and enabling environment that will make cargo operations swift devoid of bottlenecks.
Mr. Ede said, the Minister should talk to the regulatory agencies like Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA regulatory agencies like Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA to put up more friendly policies, enabling environment that would make cargo operation swift, in the sense that recently, they had issues with the Airline that later removed those bottlenecks that are causing hitches in operation,,
Recall that the new Minister has directed that all awarded contracts should be put on hold pending the clarification of payment status in all the Parastatals of the aviation industry.
