Shippers’ Council To Integrate CILT Nigeria In Recruitment Panel

 The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has said that the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria would be a member Council’s recruitment panel.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Shipper Council, Mr. Hassan Bello stated this when he hosted National President of CILT, Mr. Ibrahim Jibril and other executives of CILT during their courtesy visit to the Shippers Council headquarters in Lagos last week.

Hassan Bello expressed hope that with CILT Nigeria involved in its recruitment process; only the best qualified hands would be employed in various positions at the Council.

Hassan emphasized that the recruitment procedure of an organization could make or mar the organization, noting that growth is easy to achieve when an organization employs the right people.

The Executive Secretary also promised to give CILT Nigeria optimum support as he commended the new CILT President, referring to him as a transport veteran.

Hassan Bello stressed that transportation is professional and not an all comers affair. According to him, “Nigeria needs the right people at the helm if it is going to harness the potentials in the transport sector”

“Jibril is experienced and his emergence as National President of CILT Nigeria is apt. He is someone who is made to serve at the helm of CILT. Transportation is a profession that is well respected and we are happy to have someone like Jibril at the helm. CILT has found a worthy partner in the Council and we are going to support you because we have started seeing changes in the institute even now”

Earlier in his speech the CILT Nigeria President, Mr. Ibrahim Jibril stated that the familiarization visit to the Council was as a result of the Council’s pertinent role in the economic regulation of the nations ports.

Mr. Jibril solicited the support of the Shippers’ Council to partner with CILT Nigeria in transforming the logistics and industry in the nation in order to instill professionalism and generate more revenue.

The CILT president also admonished the Shippers’ Council to collaborate with the institute in trainings, workshops, leadership lectures and even in the recruitment process at the Council.

He also implored the Council to also support its staff who are members of the institute to enable them attend local and international seminars that would enhance their productivity in their respective offices.
