NPA Sympathizes With Victims Of Calabar Fire Outbreak The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has commiserated with the Cross Rivers State Government and families of people who lost their lives in the recent fire incident which occurred at the Line Oil and Gas tank farm located at the Calabar Free Trade Zone facility.

The Authority’s position was revealed in a press release signed by the Principal Manager, Public Affairs, Ibrahim Nasiru.

However, the Authority has also commenced an investigation into the sad event with the aim of working with stakeholders to prevent such event from reoccurring.

The management therefore reiterates the strategic place of the dictates of health, safety, security and environmental concerns. Adding that regulations in tandem with best practices should be adhered to strictly henceforth.

The Authority also commends the courageous effort of the NPA and Calabar Free Trade Zone firemen, who put their lives on the line to prevent the spread of the terrible inferno. This is addition to the deployment of our Tug Boat MV Zaria that provided support from the waterfront.

The organization assured stakeholders that it would continue to uphold the importation of global best practices in repositioning the economy of this great country.
