The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria(IMION), recently organized a one-day Executive course on Blue Economy for a select maritime journalists. It took place at NNS QUORRA, Western Navy Command, Lagos. The training paraded as resource persons:Barr. Mrs. Funke Agbor, SAN; Dr. Obiorah Madu; Barr. Mrs. Mfon Usoro; Rear Admiral Francis Akpan(Rtd) and of course, the Director- General of the Institute, Rear Admiral Thaddeus Udofia(Rtd) as well as many other participants from the media and the Navy formation. Participants were issued certificates of attendance.
What seems a garnishing on the entire menu was the ship excursion. The package was an experience and an opportunity to learn and unlearn while doing a periscope on the Blue Economy and its 10-year National Policy plan, which was adjudged holistic yet with some critical areas of oversight for amendment.
