Dr Ijeoma Akunyili recently became the first black Chief Medical Officer of United States hospital, Jersey City Medical Centre.
Ijeoma who took after her father’s medical profession, has vast leadership and advocacy experience and currently serves as the President of the Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians(CCEP).
She was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas and she is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Yale University.
