Former Minister To Chair MMS Hall Of Famers’ Charity Night

The Former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Zainab Maina is set to chair the MMS Hall of Famers’ Day and Charity Night billed for Thursday, 22nd March, 2018 at Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The event is organized to mark the International Women’s Day (IWD), even as MMS WoFHoF Initiative would be unveiling some “Heroines”  in an inspiration-packed documentary juxtaposing the “Strong” and the” Weak”  as a tool for knowledge management to advance the cause of gender equality and women empowerment in Africa and the world at large.

Prior to her appointment as Minister of Women Affairs, she was the National President of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Nigeria (1997-2001. In Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zainab Maina holds sway as part of the think-tank as Member, PDP Elders Committee; Member, PDP Board of Trustees; She was Executive Director, Women Affairs of the Jonathan/Sambo Presidential Campaign (2010); Member, PDP Presidential Electoral/Screening Committee (2010); National Women Representative, PDP Presidential Campaign Council (2007); Delegate, National Political Reform Conference (NPRC)-2005; Women Representative, PDP Reconciliation Committee on the Executive/Legislative Impasse(2002); International Convener, Home Economics and Consumer Affairs International Council of Women (ICW) Bangkok, Thailand (1993).

Zainab Maina hails from Adamawa state in North-East Nigeria. She was educated at foremost Nigerian polytechnic, Kaduna Polytechnic where she has Diploma in Administration and Higher National Diploma in Catering and Hotel Management. In addition, she has a certificate in Secretarial Studies from the Federal Training Centre Kaduna and also Centre for Development & Population, Washington DC,USA where she received a Certificate in Institution Building Activities.

Haija Zainab’s agreement to chair the occasion adds more colour to the programme even as the pioneer Director General of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS), Mrs. Ifeyinwa Akerele was recently appointed as MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame (WoFHoF) Initiative Project Adviser by the Management and Board of Trustees of the Not- for- Profit organization, MMS WoFHoF  Initiative.
