THE Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria has said it is planning to create a cargo village to improve freight forwarding in Nigeria.
Deputy President of CRFFN, Alban Igwe, disclosed this during the council’s meeting with stakeholders in Port Harcourt.
Igwe added that apart establishing a cargo village, the council had also put measures in place to create a tracking system that would help to track shipments.
He stated that the council was strategising to improve Nigeria’s rating on the global logistics performance index.
“We are planning to create a cargo village in the country. Nigeria is seen as the centre of Africa. But we have not taken advantage of this. Every day in Apapa, there is one case or the other of trucks falling.
“The council will soon create a pool of modern tracking, so that your shipments can be tracked and you will know who is handling your shipments. We are also strategising to improve Nigeria’s rating on global logistics performance,” he said.
