Sokoto State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collected about N198.5 million as internally generated revenue in 2016. Alhahi Sani Madugu, Area Controller in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states said that about N86,273,274.00 was collected in the same period in 2015. The new figure accounts for about 130% increase when compared to what was generated last year.
This is welcoming news as the Nigerian Customs Service strives to meet the lofty target given to it by the federal government even with the tough economic times facing the country.
