BULLS: Hope For Seafarers
Oblivious
of the politics involved in processing seatime training, the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Dakuku Peterside has assured cadets of the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme (NSDP) that the agency had concluded arrangements to provide them with sea-time.
This is a welcomed development as the lack of sea-time poses the greatest challenge to the seafarers and the entire maritime community.
Over 5,000 Cadets have graduated from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron and are stranded without an opportunity to acquire sea-time experience onboard vessels. Mr. DG, where are the vessels for the seatime? We hope this is not a political promise because you must deliver having made the promise!
