BULLS: Gbemi’s Home Coming
The Minister of State for Transportation, Hon Gbemisola Saraki enjoyed a glamorous homecoming in the maritime sector as industry amazons stole a moment to celebrate her, during the 3rd Maritime Stakeholders Conference, last week.
It was a formal event to highlight the burning issues in maritime and chart the headway; but the women didn’t think it was too formal to celebrate feminism as the Minister of State for Transportation returned to maritime having served as Chairperson, Senate Committee on Marine Transport several years ago.
Gbemi has pledged to make an impact in the maritime sector that would make women proud. She was spoken highly of by the distinguished Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman and the President of Nigerian Ship-owners Forum, Barr. (Mrs.) Margaret Orakwusi also lauded her.
On behalf of the women associations in the sector, the President of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria, Mrs. Mary Hamman assured her of women’s support.
What else does Gbemi need?
Has the sector just bagged a new trailblazer?
