The primary reason for railings on the stairs is safety. A staircase without railings is risky as people could easily fall off the stairs which could lead to life threatening situations.
This is the case at the press centre of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondent (LAAC). Although the owners of the building have failed to provide adequate infrastructure, LAAC should take up the responsibility of safeguarding the lives of its members as well as other important guests who visit the office frequently.
The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer for the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance), Mrs. Olatokunbo Fagbemi trembled for her life as she used the staircase last week.
It would have been a really bad story if she had fallen off. LAAC should fix the ‘danger’ staircase soonest.
