Airport Police, Customs, Pledge Close Collaboration With NAGAFF

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), has received assurances of good working relationship from the Nigeria Police Murtala Muhammad Airport Command, Ikeja and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Airport Command.

These assurances were given during a visit to the commands by the National President of NAGAFF, Fwdr. Tochukwu Ezisi,last week in Lagos.

Explaining the reason for the visit, Ezisi stated that the visit is to introduce the new Airport Chapter executives of NAGAFF and to further deepen the relationship between the association and the Airport Command of the Nigeria Police.

 

He noted that “Sometime ago, the present Inspector General of Police visited the NAGAFF headquarters in Lagos and we had a robust engagement. We prayed for him to the reach the zenith and he is the Police IG today. We also pray that you would record similar fate in the Police Service”

He said the NAGAFF ,Airport Chairman,Mr.Udo Bernard had told him that there is cordial relationship between the association and the Nigeria Police here in this command. “This goes to show the quality of your leadership and I commend you for this, even as I beckon on you to support and collaborate with the new NAGAFF executives at the Airport Chapter” he said.

In his response,the Commissioner of Police Airport Command, CP Salem Vincent Amachree expressed delight in the visit of the National President,which he considers to be important in facilitating harmonious working relationship and trade facilitation.

His words,”I’m happy that we are having this opportunity to meet physically because it avails me the privilege of being able to connect the voice of some eminent NAGAFF leaders that I have only had conversations with via the phone

 

NAGAFF and the Police have enjoyed a strong partnership over the years and this is something that we would not only maintain, but also build upon” he said

He added that he would work on the request to have cordial relationship with the established executives at the Airport Chapter.

The CP praised the association for the unity and oneness that the association has come to be known overtime.

” I’m someone who always favours a united house and I’m excited that NAGAFF has been able to grow in unity despite the diversity and varying backgrounds of the members” he said.

 

He advised the association to accept divergent views and opinions as the nation approaches 2023 general elections,noting that members may have their support for other parties ,but they should endeavour to tolerate different shades of opinions as elections will come and go ,but the unity and stability of the association is important for its continued existence.

 

His words,The Nigeria Police is a federal government establishment and at the airport we have the responsibility to ensure safety for air-travel business and other airport activities. We see NAGAFF as a strategic partner in making this happen and my doors are always open to your leaders. I’m also only a phone call away if there are any issues”

Welcoming the NAGAFF president at the Nigeria Customs ,Airport Command ,Comptroller Dangaladima ,thanked the president for the visit .

He noted that the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali , in order to facilitate trade installed scanner at Apapa Port. He said the Nigeria Customs Service is doing all it can to ensure seamless trade in the port.

He called for cooperation between the Association and the NCS,airport command.

” Let’s move our industry forward,by working in sincerity and honesty.

He noted that NAGAFF has been doing well over time and looked forward to working with the Executives of the chapter command,as introduced by its National president Fwdr. Tochukwu Ezisi.

Addressing his members at the association’s Secretariat, Ezisi frowned at the shoddy arrangement of the chapter towards the visit.He expressed disappointment with the chapter Exco and stated that he will revisit the association again as he considers the reception given as unbefitting.
