Akuvue, Shippers’ Associations President-General Dies Unsung

The President General of National Shippers’ Associations of Nigeria(NASAN), Dr Innocent Akuvue has passed on in his sleep,two weeks,ago unsung by members of the association.
An embittered close industry source who confirmed this incident to MMS Plus, expressed shock at the manner of his transition, alleging “I hope this is not connected to his peace -keeping role in the leadership battle of the Shippers’ Association of Lagos State over the alleged 13 trillion Naira court settlement refunds.
Akuvue was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CEO of GGI International Nigeria Limited which specializes in the supply of high-quality oilfield specialty and commodity chemicals, corrosion and asset integrity management, and engineering services tailored for clients across the Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream segments. Its expertise spans Exploration and Production, Drilling and Completion, Refining, Petrochemicals, and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) operations.
He was elected as the NASAN president-general to pilot the affairs of the association for two years tenure in 2021.
He rode on the platform of being the President of Rivers/ Bayelsa Shippers Association (RIBASA) to emerge the PG of NASAN.
In a terse tribute to his person, Artificial Intelligence(AI) described him thus: “Engr. Chief Sir Dr. Innocent Akuvue (Ozo Ochudo 1 of Nibo), a prominent Nigerian entrepreneur, leader, and philanthropist who recently passed away was known for founding Premier Paint and serving as Chairman of the Mercy Land Group of Schools, as well as being a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria. He is remembered for his integrity, service, and contributions to good governance and leadership.”
