Customs Confirms Management Shake Up
The Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) finally has confirmed the appointment and redeployment of 20 management members of staff to enhance strategic and effective service delivery.
Recall that MMS Plus had reported that there was a major repositioning exercise in the service following the retirement of some management members of staff last year.
Consequently, the Deputy Comptroller General(DCG) EI Edorhe is now in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services(FATS);H K Gummi, DCG Tariff and Trade; ACG Mohammed Abba-Kura now Acting DCG, Enforcement Inspection &Investigation; AG Saidu, Acting DCG, Human Resources Development; JP Ajoku, Acting DCG, Excise, Free Trade Zone & Industrial Incentives.
Others include: B A Adeniyi, Acting DCG Strategic Research and Policy; G A Itotoh, Acting DCG Training and Doctrine Command; O Peters, Acting ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘D’ ;AI Alfa, Acting ACG, Strategic Research &Policy; HJ Swomen, Acting ACG, Excise, Free Trade Zone & Industrial Incentives; KC Egwuh, Acting ACG, Training and Doctrine Command; MBA Musa, Acting ACG, Tariff and Trade; A Dappa-Williams, Acting ACG, Enforcement Inspection & Investigation; BM Jibo, Acting ACG, Headquarters; A Hamisu, Acting ACG/ Commandant Nigeria Customs Command & Staff College; Y Salihu, Acting ACG Finance & Administration.

Confirming this new development in a press release signed by the National Public Relations Officer of NCS, Compt. Timi Bomodi on Thursday, for the Comptroller General of Customs(CGC), Col. Hameed Ali(rtd), the CG who congratulated the newly appointed officers, charged them to redouble their efforts in ensuring that the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.
