The activities of port sector agencies have been characterized by the winner-takes-all theory of Charles Darwin’s Survival of the Fittest theory.
It has always been a battle of supremacy between Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), among others.
However, a commendable development was observed last was at the maiden press conference of the Apapa Customs Command which was grace by the Port Manager of LPC, NPA as well as managerial representatives of NIS, DSS and NDLEA.
