That the port access road is in very poor shape and in need of urgent rehabilitation is not in doubt. But that a body like the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) would threaten strike action over the state of the road leaves one wondering.
First, the truck owners are a part of the reason that the road is in ruins. Secondly, to give the government a deadline of August 26th, only a few days away, is indeed laughable, unrealistic and hypocritical.
