BULLS: Social Distancing In NSC Bus
When Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) donated buses to aid transportation of freight forwarders to the ports, it was celebrated as a beautiful intervention. Indeed several freight agents have benefited from the free rides. However, the social distancing religiously practiced in the buses sees three passengers at most on each row depriving passengers an opportunity to maximize the potentials of the buses. The 36 sitter buses has been limited to 24 at most.
Only one bus has also been dedicated to popular routes as freight forwarders queue up only to return to their homes when the buses are occupied.
Other maritime agencies should come to the aid of freight forwarders to enable the ports stay operational.
