It is barely a month now that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the presidential ticket to rule the country in the next four years as well as in Lagos State.
This is the first time the party at the centre is the same as the one in Lagos State. Many had thought this development will help the state to enjoy some of the benefits it hitherto did not enjoy.
Prior to the Presidential, National Assembly, Gubernatorial and State Assembly polls, the notorious Lagos State transport agency had simmered in all their activities which many people had adduced to gimmicks of winning elections.
This might have turned out to be a prophecy in disguise as the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) has since sprung into action, molesting, arresting public transport operators for no identifiable reasons.
It was so bad that transporters protested this illegality recently by disrupting the movement of public vehicles. The action also affected the movement of commuters who were going to work in the morning.
It has become so worrisome that people are beginning to entertain fear of living under such unfriendly environment for the next four years. Is this NOT worse than the xenophobic attack on Africans in South Africa?
